Stormi passed tragically in our home and in front of us. We lost her and all her puppies. I didn’t think I wanted to add her to our website because it is too painful to talk about but her memory deserves to live on. She was bred to Gunner and had a totally normal pregnancy. We lost her and all her puppies to a uterine hemorrhage.. A breeders worst nightmare but even more so a families. If you haven’t figured it out by now, our dogs are our children and this is a wound that will never fully heal. Stormi was special in so many ways. She was Brad’s dog through and through. She picked him from day one to be her person. They had a special bond where she would smile with all teeth and he’d get excited so then she’d start sneezing while smiling! Stormi was like Ginger all over again for him. She was our wonderful girl. Stormi would sit on her hind legs straight up in the air and lean her whole body against you. She made you feel wanted and like she couldn’t get close enough. Her full sister is Darci and it took Darci months before she would play with any of our other dogs. They were always playing….what we would give to watch them play again. Her best friend was Piper our Dachshund. Both red they almost looked liked Mom and Daughter. Stormi loved Dachshunds more than her own kind! We called her the “wiener dog whisperer” because they all gravitated to her. She’s irreplaceable, unforgettable and there will never be a day she is not missed.
I wanted to thank John Rasmussen Cartoons for this beautiful heart felt drawing he did of Brad’s Dad Jack aka Pop Pop welcoming Stormi and her puppies to Heaven. That is the only comfort we have since her passing, knowing she is with him.
